Appsynth, a leading digital innovation consultancy in Thailand, has announced its collaboration with Aionex, a joint venture between Arun Plus Company Limited (Arun Plus), Kwang Yang Motor Company Limited (KYMCO), and KYMCO Capital Private Equity Management Company Limited (KYMCO Capital). This collaboration will introduce Thailand’s first comprehensive digitalisation experience for electric motorcycle sales.
The collaboration aims to transform the Thai electric motorcycle market by pioneering a direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales model and launching an innovative e-commerce platform. Aionex, known for selling and servicing fully integrated electric motorcycles under the world-renowned KYMCO brand—recognised internationally with sales in 100 countries and leading the market in Taiwan—will leverage Appsynth’s expertise in digital innovation to craft a cutting-edge customer journey from pre to post-purchase.
Aionex offers a range of models for various customer segments, all featuring state-of-the-art engineering and design. All part of the Ionex smart ecosystem, these models provide access to battery swapping stations, allowing riders to quickly exchange old batteries for fully charged ones within 15 seconds. This process is quicker than refuelling and more advanced than plug-in charging.
Additionally, Aionex’s electric scooters have an industry-leading driving range of up to 180 kilometres per charge.
Beyond seamless customer experience design, the e-commerce platform supports a digital-first business approach, featuring a robust back office system that enables the Aionex commercial and after sales teams to streamline their day-to-day operations and access essential customer data. This full-featured platform ensures that the team can deliver a truly personalised experience for their motorcycle owners, allowing Thai consumers to fully engage with Aionex’s intelligent electric motorcycle ecosystem.
Aionex’s business model departs from Thailand’s conventional vehicle sales approach. Car and motorcycle sales have traditionally been conducted through dealerships, necessitating longer decision-making timelines and face-to-face interactions. However, the automotive industry is undergoing a significant transformation, with electric vehicle brands like Tesla pioneering the direct-to-consumer retail model. This trend is being adopted globally, including by major brands such as Volvo and Mini Cooper in India and Europe.
To align with this evolving landscape, the website will serve as the primary digital touchpoint for customers. It will support all stages of the customer lifecycle, from pre-purchase activities like browsing and comparing models, gathering information and booking test rides to online purchases, including pre-ordering and payments. Post-purchase, the website will assist customers with servicing, maintenance and locating battery swapping stations.

“Aionex aims to overcome the limited penetration of EV scooters in Thailand by providing easy access to quality vehicles with a smooth customer journey from start to finish, said Dhanapol Bunditkrisada, Chief Operations Officer of Aionex. With the launch of our innovative e-commerce platform, the Thai market is set to experience a significant shift in how electric motorcycles are sold and serviced. We expect this digitalisation to accelerate the adoption of EV scooters in Thailand, promoting a more sustainable and technologically advanced future.”
