7-Eleven is the largest retail chain in South East Asia with over 9000 stores in Thailand alone, patronized by 11 million customers every day. It is part of CP Group, the largest private company in Thailand and one of world's largest conglomerates, with annual revenues exceeding USD $45 billion.
Being a promotion driven app with well over a million installs, the company experiences large spikes in usage when a new campaign launches. The app needed to support high numbers of concurrent users without fail.
Appsynth helped 7-Eleven redevelop their app from scratch for improved performance and scalability, to be able to handle the high volumes of traffic it must support whenever a promotion is announced.
The new app also features an enhanced user experience and interface, with themes that match the company’s current campaign, like the Pokémon theme of the recent 'Big Coin' campaign, with officially licensed characters and exclusive branded merchandise up for grabs.
The app digitises the company’s loyalty programs, with innovative new campaigns launching every few months to keep customers active and engaged.
Collecting stickers with each purchase has been a long running and highly successful in-store loyalty scheme. Appsynth helped 7-Eleven digitise the collection of these for the relaunch of the app. Via the app customers received m-stamps at the point of purchase, which could be used for discounts or redeemed for exclusive merchandise from popular franchises Hello Kitty and Line Friends. Stamps could also be shared with family and friends, adding a new social dynamic to collecting these.
